The Collar...

A trend that has started this year and is sneakily increasing it's fame is the collar.
Fashion styles started with the Peter Pan collar on most shirts and blouses that expanded to dresses-Which you can see how it looks gorgeous from a previous post (click here). Then chunky collar necklaces were brought out to wear over high neck tops, jumpers and dresses. And now finally proper collars are being sewed into clothes and/or bought seperately to add to any item of clothing to make an original piece from the rest.
Personally, I didn't think it's something i'd ever wear - just simply because it's probably not something I could pull off, however I am loving it on most people who style it and I'm glad to see a new trend that is different and quirky and individual from anything else. So if I find the right sweater or see a cute dress- I might follow the trend and get myself a collar ♥

Exhausted...

Last night I had about 4 hours of sleep. It was one of those tossing and turning all nighters- frustrating, pointless and tiring.
So here I am, exhausted with no pretty pictures, no thorough research and no amusing anecdote. Sorry. I promise to do better next time.
But just for your interest here are a few things you may or may not know about me;
I love Coke- I have a caffeine addiction. In winter and at work I drink coffee.
I've never had an Iphone or Blackberry-not from lack of wanting one though.
I once cried when I was driving and the driver infront ran over a squirel.
I love Gerbera Dasies, but have only had them once from my dad.
I still don't know what to do with my life- and I have a month to decide.
I sometimes think I'm adopted, due to my green eyes and their blue eyes- I sometimes wish it was true.
I'm short. Just like my brother, my mother and my father. We're all short.
I have only 4 books on my shelf, but have read about 400 from the library.
I wish they'd make an up to date polaroid camera so I didn't have to use a computer software instead.
I seem shy, but at home I'm the opposite.
I hate champagne but pretend I adore it.
I love cake but only at Christmas and Birthdays.
I can't stand rude people, what is the point of being rude? Show manners!
I love dancing. Growing up I did Tap, Ballet, Irish, Street and Gymnastics (which I know itsn't dance but I just like to brag about that)
And there is even more...♥

Here come the girls...

I miss these people in my life.
My girls have gone to Uni this year and left me here all alone (Okay not all alone-I still have 4 of them) but the other 7 I miss deeply!
I also miss holidays, heres to hoping this year goes quicker so I can be on another girly holiday ♥

I am always...

I am always untangling my headphone wires,
I am always talking too much after too much caffeine,
I am always crying at movies like the Green Mile and Moulin Rouge
I am always wearing socks to bed (sometimes even in summer)
I am always forgetting to charge my toothbrush
I am always out of cash
I am always buying frames with no intention of putting photos in them
I am always looking on ebay for something I want but don't need
I am always taking photos of my dog and never me
I am always leaving things to the last minute, but always plan ahead
I am always finding things to laugh at
I am always... me ♥

Style Crush of the week...

Jennifer Lopez... J Lo... Jenny From the block.

Everybody has to be reminded of her age; 43! Can you believe it?
Dancer and Singer and Actress and once Fiance to 3, but Wife to 2 and Mother of 2. Then after giving birth and raising her twins, she still made movies and started singing again at 40- looking as hot as she did 20 years earlier. She's still got it.
After she divorced her last husband not long ago I remember watching a video of her singing in concert ( I think ) where she broke down and I felt for her. Here's a woman that's worked her ass off to make a life for herself and the best one she could. Shes so strong and talented but so human too. Seeing her in interviews, in movies and on stage you can see she's nothing but down to earth, humble and appreciative of her life and I believe she deserves the best.
Heres to another 43 years of Jennifer Lopez from the Bronx, staying stylish, loving and herself ♥
She loves her lace up booties in picture 1 & 2. And shows off her killer figure in picture 3 & 4.
And just for fun, here she is on Ellen- playful, full of humour and a laugh. Enjoy ♥

Be different, be you...

Two years a go I started my A-levels. I took Business, History, Design Technology and Art. Now I'm doing my second year at College in my Business Diploma course- clear that I didn't complete my A-levels? Right now I should be in my gap year doing work experience at a fashion department head offices. But no. Thinking back I could never understand why my Art got such a low grade when my friend tried less, did less and her work was so different and basic from mine; mine should have been marked from a different view. I always say 'Fashion is art, Art is subjective'. This applies not only in Art and Fashion but in everything about you. Your hairstyle, Music interests, tattoo choice, hobbies, books etc etc.
My point to this long rant is; never change who you are, stop what you're doing or try and be something you're not. Express yourself and make life what you want to be, after all only you have to live it. Be different, be subjective, be you.

Frills and Flowers...

I'm currently a student living at home; next year I will be living away at University for 4 years and then hopefully, if enough money is saved up, I will be living in my own space- if not I will still be saving up at the family home. Right not however we have our house for sale, has been for a while, problem is we can't find a new house to love. We did find a beautiful white stoned run down house that we think used to be an old pub a while back, but it got snatched up before we had any chance. And so I have been stuck with my 8 year old chinese themed bedroom. Right now I can't wait for a new place to start decorating something new and fresh. I want it to be pale- lots of white; walls, bed, wood and pastel colours. I love the vintage chic french styled bedrooms and the mix and matched furniture. I just can't wait to create my own style. Here is what I will be wanting when I finally get to play around ♥

AW12 Colours...

Lets face it, Autumn is basically here already. The leaves are changing, the skies are graying and the temperature is dropping. Even though we haven't had a proper Summer in the UK this year, I'm glad it's finally Autumn- Welcome back my Scarves, Jackets and Boots. There will be a few posts on the AW12 trends, so lets start with the colours that will be big this year.
As in the SS12 post I did here, Mint Green was the main colour of trend and was seen in alot of Jeans, Sweaters and Tunics. For this Season it will be mainly Browns and Grays; classic Autumn wear, but they have thrown a print into the mix- leopardprint. I'm not a fan of prints and tend to stick with plain and bold colours, and as well as the darker shades for these months ahead, a new spec from the palette includes Purples and Whites! I love this new inclusion. With White you think cool and summer, but White skinny Jeans with shearling Boots and oversized Jumper just shouts stylish and fresh.
Just a start at what Autumn and Winter will look ahead ♥

Michael Kors Watch...

For my 18th my parents got me a MK watch that I had my eye on for months! Many stylists, celebrities and bloggers wear them, mostly in a gold, tan or beige colour but since I wear alot of silver jewellrey and white clothing I have always wanted a sterling silver or white ceramic one; it's not only a gorgeous fashionable watch but it is an accessorie that can be worn with everything ♥

Beautiful baby blue...

I have had my eye on this baby for a while and, finally, it was waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday. As well as the snakeskin material, diamonte clasp and celebrity style- I fell in love with the colour. And I can't wait to match it with an outfit ♥

Marks and Spencers....

For all you non-Brits, Marks and Spencers is a department store that stocks clothes for all ages, for all genders. As well as a lingerie department and food department. When I was growing up Marks and Spencers was always and OAP's store to me. However, in the last couple of years M&S has become so much more modern, more up to date and more stylish through their use of clever marketing they are looking to grab the attention of the younger market as well as keeping their existing. Using celebrities to market their clothes must have made an increase in their reputation by now surely, famous names such as; Twiggy,Danii Minogue, Mylene Klass, Ryan Reynolds, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and David Gandy. All in all I'm super impressed with all they do and applaud them for all the hard work they're doing. Well done Marks and Spencers ♥

The last supper...

Last night, us 12 girls (my closest friends and I) had a fairwell meal at a fancy restaurant as 7 of them are going to University this year, 3 of us are going next year and 2 of them are going into full time work it seemed as though this was the last time we'd all be together. As 12 is a big group I think it's going to be hard to stay as close as we are when we live apart and across the country. I love them so much and wish them will and hope to stay in contact for as long as possible. I can't believe we're all official adults now and have to stand on our own two feet, live our own life, make our own mistakes and choose our own path. It's very scary and really sad to be leaving that chapter of my life. I have another year of college to go however so I know it's going to be a hectic one and kind of hoping it goes by quite quick so I can officially be my own person. To all my lovelies starting a new chapter that may be scary, sad or/and stressful- Good luck, I love you and wish you all so much happiness! ♥
