10 Random Facts...

The thing I love most about blogs, and my favourite types, are that they're personal to each 'author'. Even with many similarities they're all individual. Bringing me onto todays post of 10 random facts that you don't know about me, that are personally individual and represent me even if just a little bit. I have seen bloggers do this and even though I haven't been nominated as such I'd still like to share with you just so you know a little bit more about me  ♥

  1. My initials spell NEW
    .
  2. I got my first Iphone for my 20th Birthday (January this year)
    .
  3. I'm a foodie; especially chicken and chocolate (not together, that would be weird.)
    .
  4. I wear socks to bed almost always.
    .
  5. The furthest I have travelled to is Mexico (twice.)
    .
  6. My current favourite TV show is Suits (obsessed, and I haven't watched much shows since I moved to London as I don't have a TV!)
    .
  7. At Starbucks I order a Caramel Macchiato. In Costa I'll have a Caramel Latte.
    .
  8. I have never been to a concert or festival (sad? yeh...) or watched Finding Nemo!
    .
  9. The best cocktail I've had was a called a 'bun bun'
    .
  10. When I was younger I used to want to be an estate agent. I even wrote a poem about it...

How to Survive when you're ill...

Getting older has meant I've become more tolerant with the colds and sickness' I have been getting. Being run down, not eating right, on the go too much and stress are the main reasons for this. How I deal with this? Simples...
  1. Have long sleeps.
I mean long. Not 8 hours, 12-14. Just go slow, body needs rest so go to bed early and have lie-ins when you can. Keeping your body warm will keep it protected and minimise the time of your illness. Put the heater on, add extra layers and have a duvet day with lots of films.
  2. Eating properly.
I definitely do not change my diet when I'm ill; I don't have soup after soup with vegatables to snack on. If you can- great! I can't. Fruit is amazing for this, hot drinks and lots of water. It comforts your body in you looking after it. I have lots of lemsip because its not just a medicine drink its hot and tasty; you feel better just sipping it. But with the good comes the bad= Chocolate. Whenever I'm ill it comforts me to snack on chocolate. And, as my dad says; it is scientifically proven to help you. Probably just a placebo effect but I'm not complaining; any excuse to have Cadburys.
  3. Put on a smile.
You've got a cold. It's too late, nothing you can do- deal with it. Put on a brave face and go about your day. The more you feel sorry for yourself the longer it will stay with you. The better you forget about it the quicker it will go; you're basically rebelling against it. Don't make it miss important stuff in life!

Hey It's Okay...

...to have an addiction to Glamour Magazine
...to get your clothes off eBay and tell people its brand new from the retail store on the label
...to say your going to be healthy from now on and it only lasts a week
...to lie about how much that hairdressers appointment really cost
...to prefer a movie night in your sweats then having to dress up for a night out
...to laugh so hard no sound comes out
..to still be slightly scared by Michael Jacksons thriller video(only the wolf change bit...)
...if you still don't know how to work Twitter
...to be raging mad when someone "forgets" to reply to your text, but you do it all the time anyway
...to procrastinate by looking at youtube videos. Those talking dogs sure do keep you entertained
...if you are secretly wishing for some money in that birthday card
...to not have watched Lost till the end and have no idea if they got off that Island?
...to have lots of frames in your house but with no photos in- they're on facebook anyway
...to spend your 'saving up money' on a new pair of shoes- you can never have enough shoes.
...to be a little bit of a hoarder. Hey, one day I might need that scrabble board with missing letters.
...to wave back to that stranger in the car beeping you. Along with the other 4 people waving in front of you.
...to get excited when your underwear and bra match.

Bad Habits...

  1. Being a Coke cola addict
    -
Before you worry I mean Coke Cola, I am always drinking Caffeine. And I get withdrawal symptoms when I go 48hours without- not good!
  2. Picking off nail varnish
-This annoys my mom more than anything, especially when she finds it on her carpet... I'm sure you've done it where its chipped, it's easy to come off and it saves money on nail varnish remover- win win!
  3. Ordering a burger instead of a salad
-I may be a girl but I did not dress up to eat something I could make at a supermarket.
  4. I leave Business work to the last minute
-Now if I was doing something I enjoyed like fashion, I'm sure this would be a moot point. But since I have to write reports on supply and demand, ethics in a business and how an event is run in a team... I can only do this under pressure, like a day before the deadline. Not good.
  5. Going to bed without taking off make up
-Happens mainly when I'm tired, but I'm pretty confident it occurs to 90% of make up users, such a chore!
  6. Always having the red light on my petrol tank flash...
    -Petrol is expensive!
  7. Staying in bed longer than I should
-I was so surprised when I found out I was the only 19year old who stays in bed till 11 sometimes 12 on a Sunday. Is that too much of a lie in?
  8. Not saying what I really want at the hairdressers
-I like to be a people pleaser and hate conflict. But what I really should say at the hairdressers is no to a fringe and stop cutting it so short! I want it looooong. :(
  9. Liking older music than the current top40-I know I'm young but I prefer Etta James and Aretha Franklin over One Direction- Those children don't have as much quality experience.
  10. When I start a good book I tend to stay up to till 4am until it's finished
-They mean what they say when readers say you can't put it down, I literally can't.
  11. Neglecting my blog! :(
-Had to add this as I'm feeling this is a main one lately. When you have lack of inspiration, crappy weather is limiting things to do and less pictures are being taken posts become a minimum. Bad habit #11.

Procrastinating....

I don't think I'm one of those people who can do the same thing too long... actually it's a fact.
I get bored. Easily when I'm having to do something again and again that is unapologetically dull.
As you've probably guessed I'm bored. And found myself here. Distracted? Procrastinating? Both. Yes. Doing college work is so boring. writing the same thing over and over again. I have had a week to do this and always find myself doing it last minute, I must thrive on pressure. Actually I think it's just knowing there is no way of getting out of it tonight- must be done. I even managed to bake muffins in this time. Wow I'm bored.
Help me. Follow me, talk to me, tell me about you!
Answer below to stop my boredom ♥
  1. Single or attached?
  2. Living in..?
  3. Favourite movie?
  4. Worst fashion faux pas?
  5. What were you doing 5 minutes before you started typing your answers to this post?

Dogs on Ice...

You know how parents are obsessed with their kids when it comes to photographs and videos, when you have dogs it's sort of similar- especially when you don't really like kids.
A quick post because it is snowin! So as I go play, enjoy the video starring Oscar (de la renta?) and Louis (vuitton... of course I didn't name them after designers..) ♥

My week...

On Monday, I had a one-off movie day snuggled with my mum.
On Tuesday, I drove the dogs to a nearby forest/field for a long walk, after it had been slowly raining that day, when moving out of the way for a car to get past, I ended up slowly getting further and further stuck in a ditch. It took my father, my brother and his friend with his mercedes to pull my car out. Worst day. Never again.
On Wednesday, I got my hair highlighted and cut- which I regret as she gave me a bloody fringe, I did not want one! I'm not 12. Then she continued cutting and i now have super short hair. Not good at all. After that disaster, I went out for a girly dinner with the girls. Really Lovely.
On Thursday, back to college. My three week Christmas holiday finally ended. Humpf. It was a long day.
Friday, I had a road trip to where my un-delivered package was waiting for me and later I'm out for early-birthday-drinks with the guys from College.
Saturday...is my 19th Birthday. Ahh! Why is it that up to your 18th Birthday you can't wait for your birthday, but after that mileston you can't get further away from your birthday. Is it me, or is it going too fast now. I don't want to grow up!

Hope your week had less dramas then mine, and that un-like mine you're 2013 is going well with lots of fun and happiness♥

Honestly, me...

I love going out for dinner, cocktails, cinema... I don't love clubbing- but I'm 18 so i'll pretend.
I love Glamour magazine and Marie Claire... I like pictures and fun not stook up and expensive; sorry Vogue.
I wear heels with straps so I don't fall out of pumps that don't hold my feet it.
I laugh alot because I love to, but put up a shield of quiet and shy.
I studied History in 5 years of high school and through A-levels but can't remember a thing of what I was taught...who was fighting and why in World War 1?
I have a lot of pink in my room, but hardly any clothing because I don't want to be seen as a barbie.
I don't know if the course i'm majoring in at University is what I really want to do in my life..will I enjoy it, will I regret it?
Really want to do a dance class, but not independent enough to go it solo.
Hates children but secretely, maybe, a little bit...may have one when I'm older; we're talking 35+.
Had a completely, deeply obsessive crush over a guy in high school who turns out to become one of my now closest friends boyfriend. He's still pretty but personality has let me down a bit. Crush definitely gone. Phew.
Thinking my parents wished me and my brother could have become doctors, pilots or air hostess (mum does) and are secretely dispointed that we chose the creative routes of Fashion (me) and Journalism (him). Even if it's not said and they speak of how proud they are.
Getting the Michael Bubé 2013 Calender again this year, and slightly hoping i had gotten concert tickets instead.
Not having a specific taste in music and not really knowing what genre fits which. I like Beyonce, Bublé and Norah Jones- which category am I?
Hating and feeling shit whenever someone asks 'Do you have a boyfriend yet?'
Can not wait to move to London to have some space from my family, but hating when I'm alone in the house.
This is just how I am...honestly ♥

When you wish hard enough...

...it just might come true.
So I think after all the stress, all the troubles and all the tiredness that life has been like this few weeks- possibly even months, something exciting happened only a few hours ago that I just have to share with everyone. Eventhough you may find it boring and irrelevant, you're still going to know.
Today;
Was stressful (suprise) at college and I didn't end up leaving till 6pm when I finished at 3. But on my drive home I had a message on my email...so i got home, went on my email and there waiting for me to lighten up my days was an offer for my first choice University! Remember that post on Westminster open day that I attended? Well thats the one. So happy! If all goes well, I will be moving away from my quiet country home to the top fashion city and head of the country; London. So excited ♥

The good, the bad, and the crazy...

...this pretty much sums up my previous week and the weeks up to Christmas as I can imagine. I'm really sorry for the lack of posts- I am just as irritated to not have the time or inspiration to have made amazing posts for you this last week. However, my week was filled with good moments; had a successful inteview and open day at one of my University choices- which means I won't be working at my local supermarket next year definitely at a University! The bad; my mother is very sick these last few weeks and in lots fo pain so have been taking her to doctors appointments and running aorund for medicines etc. And the plain, right crazy; had to train someone as part of my college course, lots of depressing thick assignments and everyday I haven't been at college I have been at work dealing with the Christmas customer rush. So - this is my apology post. Stay tuned this week though and i promise to finish my aready started posts of Christmas, Celebs and fashion AW12 trends - the usual really?♥

My week...

On Monday I was sunbathing on the beach in the Dominican Republic
On Tuesday I lacked 36 hours of sleep after a 9 hour horrific night time plane journey
On Wednesday I went down to London for a University open day and saw where I will be for the next 4 years of my life- fingers crossed?
On Thursday I slept till 12pm and had chocolate cake. Then got coffee from Starbucks. It was a productive day.
On Friday I went to take my dogs for a walk and trapped my finger in the boot of my car... I'm now scared I will lose my nail :(
On Saturday I spent all day putting Christmas decorations up at work- It's Mid November!
Sunday is rememberence day. Enough said ♥

Days in Dominican Republic...

De nada means your welcome.
The Caribbean makes good coffee.
Got bitten by mosquitos twelve times! TWELVE!
Drunk all these cocktails; Brandy Alexander, Sex on the Beach, Dominican Flag, Cosmopolitan, Pinicalada...
Fell in love with the cocktail; Bun Bun.
I can read 5 books on the beach, but 0 when at home.
I dream about Ryan Gosling when away from home.
I can't haggle.
Hurricane season is in October. Hmm...
Laying by the pool all day is exhausting.
I'm pale. Very very pale.
Wishing the UK people were as lovely and friendly as the ones in Dom Rep.
I have a strong love for English food.
Even though it's super far from the UK, it was an amazing trip.

The Bridget Jones inside me...

Looking at the photos from the holiday, I think I have a Bridget Jones resemblance...Ah oh.
Note to self; Change look- Anti-Bridget; can not become middle aged spinster at the age of 18! ♥

Can bimbos be smart?

So...I bought myself some glasses. -fake glasses- Yes. I wanted to join in with the geek chic, indie nerd look. When they arrived they looked 80's size massive! Always try on glasses before you buy- valuable advice there.
So tell me- too big? ♥

With or without?

Exhausted...

Last night I had about 4 hours of sleep. It was one of those tossing and turning all nighters- frustrating, pointless and tiring.
So here I am, exhausted with no pretty pictures, no thorough research and no amusing anecdote. Sorry. I promise to do better next time.
But just for your interest here are a few things you may or may not know about me;
I love Coke- I have a caffeine addiction. In winter and at work I drink coffee.
I've never had an Iphone or Blackberry-not from lack of wanting one though.
I once cried when I was driving and the driver infront ran over a squirel.
I love Gerbera Dasies, but have only had them once from my dad.
I still don't know what to do with my life- and I have a month to decide.
I sometimes think I'm adopted, due to my green eyes and their blue eyes- I sometimes wish it was true.
I'm short. Just like my brother, my mother and my father. We're all short.
I have only 4 books on my shelf, but have read about 400 from the library.
I wish they'd make an up to date polaroid camera so I didn't have to use a computer software instead.
I seem shy, but at home I'm the opposite.
I hate champagne but pretend I adore it.
I love cake but only at Christmas and Birthdays.
I can't stand rude people, what is the point of being rude? Show manners!
I love dancing. Growing up I did Tap, Ballet, Irish, Street and Gymnastics (which I know itsn't dance but I just like to brag about that)
And there is even more...♥

I am always...

I am always untangling my headphone wires,
I am always talking too much after too much caffeine,
I am always crying at movies like the Green Mile and Moulin Rouge
I am always wearing socks to bed (sometimes even in summer)
I am always forgetting to charge my toothbrush
I am always out of cash
I am always buying frames with no intention of putting photos in them
I am always looking on ebay for something I want but don't need
I am always taking photos of my dog and never me
I am always leaving things to the last minute, but always plan ahead
I am always finding things to laugh at
I am always... me ♥
